Thanksgiving Our Way (or the Highway) - Note: Epic Length Follows (T.W.he.S!)

**Warning, this is a long post, which is why it's being posted on Wednesday rather than Thursday...thought you could use an extra day to read, love and appreciate it.**

While Thanksgiving is a National holiday celebrated by Americans all over, it stands to reason that each person celebrates the same holiday quite differently.  While some families have ham, others have turkey and still others may have a Turducken.  Chander Bing has grilled cheese sandwiches and Funions.  Everyone is different.  So regardless of if it is generic and similar to every one of my readers' holiday weekends, I've decided to describe Thanksgiving as it was celebrated by my family.

T-Gives Live Blog 2013

I went home for Thanksgiving again this year.  I know my family looks forward to seeing me, but I regularly joke that if I didn't go home, they wouldn't have Thanksgiving because I typically cook the entire thing.  This year my sister in law and brother assisted and my sister and her husband purchased the pies as well as provide the cooking location and utensils.

I had been looking forward to this weekend for quite some time as I don't see my entire family more than once or twice a year.  Maybe that seems normal to some, but not to me.  It sucks to me.  As hard as it is to leave sunny and warm South Florida and the little Gizmo-butt, I start a 2 month countdown and get very giddy about it.  This trip to Chicago I finally had a chance to not be bored on the plane - I had accidentally booked the same trip as my friend, Josh Gordon.

So now, without further ado (and with a crap-ton of post-travel editing), please enjoy the live-blog of my trip home for Thanksgiving this year:

Thursday Thoughts: A Bullet List of Excitement

I'm the type of "blogger" who randomly expounds upon topics that pop into my head at any given moment.  I've put "blogger" in quotes much like I used to put running in quotes.  This is because I believe that doing something periodically does not make you a person who does that thing.  For example, sometimes I paint; I am NOT a painter.  Anyway.  Lately I've been lacking when it comes to discussion topics.  Long gone are the days of dating blogs, the Bachelor live-blogs (you're welcome, J) and rumination on defining myself.  I'm finding myself stuck, for lack of a better term and mostly because I just mentioned painting, with an empty canvas.  I decided instead to list the things that are coming up shortly for which I am excited.

Running (in Quotes), Awkward Non-Dating and a WANTS list

Today - like most days - I am struggling with a topic about which to write.  I suppose "struggling" is too strong a word for this situation.  Being a single mother with 2 jobs is a struggle.  Living in a war zone is a struggle.  Writing a blog is FAR from a struggle.  So I am just going to spout of words and thoughts and, at the end, leave you with a list of things I want to own.  Sound good?  No?  Too fucking bad.
